Account Assistant - Full-time
Up to £30,000 per annum
Smooth Accounting are looking for an enthusiastic, driven individual to join our excellent team based in our beautiful offices at 1000 Lakeside in Portsmouth.
The role is for a full time Accounts Assistant. We are looking for someone who is recently AAT qualified or qualified by suitable experience. Experience with VAT preparation and complex bookkeeping is essential.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparation of accounts to trial balance stage
- Preparation of management accounts to review stage
- Preparation of director personal tax returns with minimal assistance
- VAT reviews of client prepared returns
- Processing complex payrolls and CIS returns as required
- Collation of information for accountants’ references
- Provide feedback to apprentices for bookkeeping work
- Assist with queries on payroll and pension matters
- To hit quantity and quality KPI’s as set out by the business
- Appropriate delegation of tasks assigned to the correct team members (bookkeeping etc)
- Ensure apprentices have sufficient workload to meet their KPI’s
- Provide apprentices with sufficient in-house training to ensure work carried out to highest possible standard
We are Xero gold partners – so knowledge of Xero is preferred.
